Welcome to the Canadian Cooperation Office
(CCO) of Cambodia’s website. The Canadian Cooperation Office (CCO), formally known as the
Cambodia Program Support Unit (PSU), was established by CIDA in March 2000. Since its establishment,
the role of the CCO has been critical to the implementation of the Cambodia program particularly
as the political and economic environments are rapidly evolving. CIDA’s policy of strengthening
aid effectiveness has placed more emphasis upon working smarter in the field and using local
resources to improve CIDA’s knowledge base and program effectiveness. The CCO’s objectives are to enhance the achievements of Canada’s development aid to
Cambodia by assisting CIDA in the planning and implementation of its programs, including:
conducting sector studies, providing information on country perspectives, analyzing situations,
and providing logistics and resources for in-country planning, scoping and the design of missions.
Project Goal, Objectives, Outcomes and Outputs of the CCO
The goal of the CCO is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of Canadian Official Development Assistance to Cambodia.
The objective of the CCO project is to contribute towards increasing the efficiency and effectiveness
of Canadian Official Development Assistance (ODA) provided to Cambodia through providing assistance in the planning, implementation and monitoring of CIDA’s development assistance program in Cambodia.
The CCO assistance will take the form of contributing to programming activities such as: identifying and assessing programming opportunities;
assisting in policy development; undertaking program related socio-economic analyses;
assisting in program performance monitoring, conducting research; assessing the potential for sustainable results as well as risks in project and program proposals; and capacity building.
The expected outcome of the CCO Project is an enhanced field capacity to serve the needs of CIDA's Cambodia Program in terms of data gathering and country analysis,
project and program planning and implementation, and project monitoring, as well as enhanced field capacity to contribute towards increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of Canadian ODA provided to Cambodia.
The expected outputs of the CCO Project are:
Responsive, transparent and efficient administrative and logistical services; Timely, responsive and professionally competent technical and management consulting services; Accountable, effective and transparent CCO management and administrative and technical support.
