The
Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI)- Cambodia is a CIDA-funded program,
currently administered from the Canadian Cooperation Office in Phnom Penh.
For this fiscal year 2010/2011 it has a budget of Cdn$ 125,000 (approx.
110,000USD), and an overall goal to assist with the economic and social
development of communities. To complement CIDA’s bilateral programming in
Cambodia, the primary objective of the Canada Fund for this fiscal year
2010-2011 is to promote and protect the rights of women, children and
indigenous peoples.
The Canada Fund is now calling for proposals
from NGOs and/or CBOs that are committed to working in the promotion and
protection of the rights of women, children and indigenous peoples. The
proposal should address at least one of the above objectives with a proposed
budget between 10,000US to 25,000USD.
Proposals could include, for example,
implementation of strategies and programs that address violence against
women and children; training in conflict resolution; prevention in
trafficking; protection of street children; programs to make women less
vulnerable to abuse; training to increase knowledge and understanding of
land rights of indigenous peoples; or registration of indigenous
communities. Preference will be given to proposals which are constructive
and able to provide positive and measurable results.
